Vitamins and minerals help build and repair tissues. They are involved in regulating every bodily function, including the conversion of food to energy. If you are an active person, it is almost impossible to meet your body’s requirements for optimal functioning through food intake alone (without dramatically increasing your calories, which would make it very difficult to lose fat).
